NO.5 and 13 Women Seed in NCAA Golf Regional

The field for the NCAA Women's Golf Championship was announced Monday, and Washington received the No. 13 seed in the West Regional that will be played May 5-7 at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn.Washington National, which most Woods Wins But Not Tiger recently hosted an NCAA regional in 2006, previously hosted the NCAA Women's Championships in 2002.Among the 24 teams that will compete at the West Regional are top-ranked and top-seeded USC, third-seeded and seventh-ranked Arizona, and 11th-seeded Oregon. The top eight squads will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 18-21 at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.
Northeastern State’s women’s golf team was awarded the No. 5 seed from the West Region in an announcement released by the NCAA on Monday.The West Regional will be hosted by West Texas A&M and played at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo May 1-3, with the top three teams and top three individuals advancing to the NCAA Division II championships May 11-14 at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich.
It’s the 10th time in 13 seasons that NSU has qualified for the tournament. Six of those times it finished in the top eight.
Tarleton State is the top seed in the West Region. Grand Canyon, St. Edward's, California State-Monterey Bay and NSU round out the top five. The other four teams are: Central Oklahoma, Western Washington, Sonoma State and Nebraska-Omaha. Joanna De Sa Peirera (Incarnate Word), Kendra Whittley (Midwestern State), Mercedes Rios (Dallas Baptist) and Alisa White (West Texas A&M) will be playing as individuals in the regional.
